“Pond Keeper” Project

If you live on one of our local freshwater ponds or use them as one of your recreational resources, consider becoming a “Pond Keeper”.

​

Being a “Pond Keeper” means you will regularly collect basic information about Long Island’s lakes or ponds using a link to a survey on your mobile device. 

​

The information includes your name, date, time, location and two pictures of the water. If you have access to a thermometer, a water temperature would also be helpful.
