Geographic Information Systems (GIS)

An education program we’ve developed to help local teachers and their students become familiarized with ESRI’s ArcGIS - a very powerful technology and important 21st-Century skill.  Students are also introduced to data gathering, data entry into ESRI’s “Survey 123” forms, and data analysis methods.  In addition to teaching the basics of GIS technology, we also assist any K12 organization in acquiring a free license for ESRI’s ArcGIS software. The Peconic Community School in the Town of Southold is participating in a dual program at Laurel Lake Preserve, covering both Geographic Information Systems and “Pond Keepers” programs.
